Jen’s Links

I must have parenting especially on my mind this week. I need help, but mostly I need to laugh.

I liked this list of 50 open-ended questions to ask your older kid. It is hard to get Owen (almost 12) to talk to me about anything other than Lord of the Rings or Minecraft, but I want to know what’s going on in his head. I think I’ll try a few of these.

I laughed til I cried and then some more when reading “Worst End of School Year Mom Ever” by Jen Hatmaker today. “Solidarity, you guys” “What fresh hell is this?” “Just whatever, man” — these will make sense when you read it and might become my new mantras. (Don’t miss the comments — some fall-off-chair material there too!)

More parenting humor from BuzzFeed: 24 People Who Are Really Nailing this Parenting Thing. My favorites might be #5, #7, and #20. Hard to choose though.

Overalls back in? I’ll believe it when I see it.

Great read-alouds for kids.

Summer’s up, and I’m breaking out my favorite $6 camisoles from Primp. Great for sleeping and nursing, with adjustable straps.

It’s somebody’s birthday soon! (Ok, it’s me!) We’ll be hitting up the Loring Park Cafe Maude (during family hour, of course.)
